Dabur Nepal helps empower women- Kathmandu, Nepal

Dabur Nepal, an Indian joint venture, is working to empower women through its medicinal and herbal unit in the country, a top company official has said.

"We are providing employment mainly to local women through which we are also promoting the idea of women empowerment and helping the local community to generate income and thereby alleviating poverty," Dabur Nepal's country manager H S Vedi said.

The herbal unit situated in Banepa, 50-km east of Kathmandu, is providing employment to over 100 women in its green house, he said.
"Dabur Nepal is currently operating the aromatic plant centre to produce herbs which are being used for producing herbal medicines and natural cosmetics," he said, adding the company's main motto is "conservation through cultivation".

Dabur Nepal was set up as an independent group company in 1992.
